Got me a tard

Had to trade my SV for it, but I think it's gonna be a blast. I'm kinda worried about maintenance and the possibility of it crapping out but hopefully it will be really fun in the meantime!

It's an 05' CRF450R and it already came pretty well prepped for the track. The plan is to order a stator kit, a headlight/brakelight combo and get it street legal. Not for commuting but I want to be able to ride around town when I feel like it, jump curbs and all the other motard stuff haha. The 3 sisters would probably be a blast too. I've done a couple trackdays at MSRH and TWS (Texas World Speedway) but I can't wait to hit MSRH with this and do GSS for the first time.

Well here's a couple pics from when I got home last night.
Got me a tard

The 'track'. An abandoned warehouse here in town. Only got to ride for about 30 minutes until some car kept creeping in and I took it as a sign to hit the road. This thing is loouudd

And in that short amount of time I was able to catch a nail or some other small piece of metal in the brand new rear Michelin slick .. sweeettt

What warehouse is that? Down in the industrial park where they are building the CAT plant?

Does anyone have recommendations on stator kits, or light setups? Planning to order tonight/tomorrow so let me know. This is the setup that I am leaning towards.

stator kit:
http://www.motostrano.com/trelsykihos.html

headlight:
Not real sure on the difference of these two? One say's DOT approved and the other doesn't but the product name is the same, just one is $20 cheaper.

http://www.motostrano.com/trtex2mospki.html

http://www.motostrano.com/trtex2exhe.html

Dunno what I'm going to do about a brake light just yet

No it is over on the southside of town though, it's down Delmar. Right off the Houston Highway by the What-a-burger.

I bought the Trail Tech Stator (etc) and Vapor Computer for my CRF450R '03. I really like it.
Chad has good prices on those set-ups: battery, flywheel, stator, with reg/rect. kit from Trail Tech. He has helped me with my street legal set-up. I just need to work out my title and she is city-ready!

Is that the one that used to be by the old drive-in?

Edit: nevermind, I think I know where you were no, after looking at pictures again.

Chad = Motostrano? What did you go with for your light setup, more specifically the brake light? I'm thinking about getting a 450x rear fender with the light already in it off of fleabay.

Off topic...Is the "Brown Bag" still there. Best burger I ever had and the only place I know that serves a beer to the TOP of the glass so that the surface tension holds it in place as it crowns the rim.

I'm thinking road trip now.

I bought the Polisport MMX light. Not very bright imo. PimpDaub had a Acerbis headlight where he installed a HID kit. VERY good lighting with that.

I havent bought a brake light as of yet, just the wiring and hydraulic switch. I was thinking the universal edge 2 LED light.
