'08 Ninja 250 Question???

I just bought this bike and i have noticed this plug sort of thing on the right side of my bike under the seat above the foot peg. It has a cap to the plug, but i have no idea what it is and what plugs into it. Here are some pics of it. If you can tell me what this is, id appreciate it. I just took it to Motorcycles Unlimited and got oil and 23 point inspection done, and i figured if it was important they would have mentioned it. Thanks
