The older PC's did bypass the stock sensors going to the ECU.
Particularly the PCII's and some of the PCIII's
The newer PCIII USB units plug in between the ECU and the injector rack, so they allow the stock sensors to adjust for conditions such as temperature or altitude. They also have the Accel Pump function, which is a free download from their site.
All of them lengthen or shorten the pulse of the injectors. It's how they control the fuel being delivered. Like I said earlier, both are good units, but the Techlusion doesn't offer the range of adjustment necessary for a lot of bikes.

I wasn't aware that the new pc installed like that. I might have to look into that unit more. Kinda expensive though.

I dont want a PC for more power, I want the thing running right. IE: clean, smooth, take out lean and popping conditions that are not the best for the bike

+1 on the ceramic. But it is a little more pricey and more work to remove pipes and down time to have it done. Sure looks nice when done though.

A pc bypasses the factory ecu and sensors and a new map is needed to compensate for elevation changes. Who wants to load a new map every time they take a twisty vacation? My unit works great. In fact I have an older unit and the techlusion people said if I send it in with $35.00 they would send me a new updasted unit with the accelerator pump function.
if they only add fuel then they don't shorten the pulse the lengthen it.

anytime i've ever had pipes wapped i removed them anyway because you can wrap the pipes better when you can actually move them around.

I wasn't bad to do the rc. It has one pipe from the front and one pipe in the rear. the only hard part was wrapping the collector. Took my time and no prob.
