that stuff is expensive. try paiting the metal with some high temp paint. some of the spray can supposedly reduce the temperature.

also, dont wrap titanimum.

Scrapp don't wrap your pipes until u get a p.c. The increased scavenging will create a lean condition at the heads. It is already lean because of the aftermarket can.

The rc does not run rich from the factory. It runs at optimal to slightly lean condition. As far as the wrap goes...that is part of the advantage to wrapping pipes. It keeps heat in the pipe, therefore increasing scavaging and increasing hp. Make no mistake about it. It will reduce the ambient temp slightly, but it is mainly a hp thing. If you switch to dual pipes the answer will be the same. You need a fuel managment system before wrapping pipes. And do not wrap ti. It will retain too much heat and crack the pipe. You don't necesarily need a pc with slip-on cans, but it will run slightly lean and increase the operating temp of the rc. A fuel managment system will remove the lean condition and bring operating temps down.

As far as what people tell you goes...do they run a rc? If you don't believe me join http://www.rc51.org/ or http://speedzilla.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51. Do your own research.

Are these the same people that told you to replace the cam chain tensioner?

HONDA told me to replace the cam chain tensioner.
A few RC51 people on here, and then the nice lady at cycle gear (she was nice, nothing against her, I know she posts, Im just not sure as what) told me that PC's are not good for RC's
Im about my , I want stuff running good. Highly considering going back to a dual exhaust, or at least re-modify the header (I cant really tell how he modifyed it, he just sliced off one tube and welded it up) and get a PIIIusb.
I just dont want to add anymore weight to the bike, so means i gotta shell out $$$$ for a lightweight system, or just find a better alternitive to single pipe.

Ok, well who ever told you at honda to replace the the cam chain tensioner is an idiot. Gear driven cams. Those same people at honda(stubbs) told me that the rvt100r and rc51 were 2 different bikes. As for the pc. I don't care for them myself, thats why I use a techlusion unit. As for you exhaust mod. I would go back to duel pipes. The correct way to run a jardine 2-1 system is to remove the midpipes and put their system on. It has a larger diameter collector to compensate for running that much flow into a single tube. If your set up is welded shut on one side, you are actually restricting you exhaust flow and killing you hp. There is nothing wrong with the single if it is done right. The single systems don't have high hp numbers. It might be in your best interest to go duel satos and get alot of hp out of it. The hp gain will surpass the weight gain.

Ok, so either way i need to redo the exhaust. either do a cleaner weld on the header, and then add a bigger midpipe/can, or switch back to dual.

damnnot! I need a new job to pay for this shizz.

An RC with just a slip on does tend to run a little fat in the midrange. Seen it time and again on the dyno, it also runs lean in other areas as well.
The Techlusion is a decent unit but does not have the ability to remove fuel, only add.
While the PCIII isn't the best solution, apart from 3D fuel mapping like what the top AMA boys have, it's the next best thing.

As far as wrapping, it will make a very small difference in fuel mixture, but typically not enough to amoutn to a problem.
Definitely don't wrap Ti.
I keep wrap in stock for our racebikes, so when you need it I can just sell you however much you need.

It is true that the techlusion unit only adds fuel, but it lengthens the injector pulse that the factory computer sends out. My personal opinion is that this is better for common street riding because if the average joe takes a trip to an area with higher elevation , the factory computer can still shorten/lengthen the pulse to compensate some. A pc bypasses the factory ecu and sensors and a new map is needed to compensate for elevation changes. Who wants to load a new map every time they take a twisty vacation? My unit works great. In fact I have an older unit and the techlusion people said if I send it in with $35.00 they would send me a new updasted unit with the accelerator pump function.
