I agree about the thought of it being stolen who would sell a stolen bike like that on eBay I mean its a one of a kind obviously and would stick out like a sore thumb but maybe there are people that stupid in the world lol I mean just look at the kd that flipped off the Galveston cop and ran and wrecked

Maybe someone could explain how an instance like this comes about.
As someone who has bought and sold motorcycle salvage in the past I see no reason why this should be as it is.
Unless the frame/bike was a stolen recovered and the VIN number had been removed prior to recovery.
In which case would a COD have not been issued?

maybe the frame never had a vin and never was titled as a road vehicle. i have seen kawasaki frames with no vin as they were to be used as an offroad vehicle only. i believe they came through a factory racing program.

oh yeah and that first bike is bad . second one is impressive, but i bet the first one is the better track bike.

The first R1 is sick. He has more just in his front end than that entire second R1 posted.
Those are Superbike forks, not typical Ohlins (over $10k), CMC Axis rotors (over $3k), very expensive calipers as mentioned (over $4k) and a Carbon BST wheel ($1.6k).

Those OPP Carbon Kevlar fairings are the strongest you are likely to find (and are very expensive). Superbike radiator and a built engine by JJ

This seems more likely. Jamie James and the shop appear in a lot of those pics. Jamie doesn't need to spend his time risking builds on potentially stolen bikes. I have heard a rumor that he might still know a person or two involved with the Yamaha factory race programs too

Only reason I'd buy that would be to part it out and try to turn a profit.
, I can't even ride the limits of a stock R1.
Definetly a lot of work and money in that thing.

That's what I was getting at! This bike was not built for fashion, it was built to be a SICK machine with nothing holding it back (I guess looks for some people) but never the less, don't see this bike becoming a street bike anyway, though it would make a stupid street bike! Good luck to the new owner!

I would probably sell, it, get a nice car, a track bike, and hit the tittie bar.
