I've never paid attention to that, but I don't think I do. I mean, if a guy shivers when he's peeing, wouldn't he risk spray painting the walls?

Ahh...a subject that I know quite a bit about...Being paralyzed has enlightened me on this subject. This is one of the items I was educated about in rehab. It's the autonomic nervous system is what does it to you. The autonomic system is the nevrous system that controls the functions that our body does without us thinking about it. Like the heart beat, digestion, etc...What happens is that when your bladder fills up, and you hold it in long enough, you will get pressure built up in there and then the pressure will push urine back up to the Kidneys. This causes the heart rate to go up and your blood pressure to go up. It can cause a heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure. Once you relieve the pressure in your bladder, the blood pressure drops almost immediately. The flush feeling you had on the outside of your body rushes away and you are left with the chills. I never had this before my accident. But now I get it on a daily basis. Since I cannot feel when I need to go, I will get hot and short of breath when my bladder is full. So, when I see those signs, I know to go to the RR and cath myself. I then get cold right afterwards. The chills are a releif after getting hot and short of breath.

Another trick yall should try, is try cleaning out your belly button (IE: a finger, or Q-tip) it "itch" the inside near your groin. I thought I was weird untill finnaly I asked people and when they tried it, it did the same thing
