Bike insurance shopping...

Time for renewal. Been with the lizard for 5 years now. It has stedily increased. Last year I droped a bike and they offered to convert my liability only to full coverage instead of a refund. I agreed. This year the bill is
$20 higher for liability only.

I went to the red heads sight and got full coverage for $20 less then the lizard wanted for liability only. I am sure they will hike it up over a few years.

They all bank on laziness...

Shop your rates...

just be sure you have what they say you're paying for. When I bought my bike new last year, I spoke with progressive on 3way with a rep from my finance company and got everything set up for full coverage with all the perks, at a very fair price. A few months back I decided to look though my policy as it was renewal time, and found out I had comprehensive, not FC. I called them to about it, and got it fixed, but If I'd tried to make a claim before that I might have been screwed.

It's comp, not full, but still cheaper then the liability only.... You are correct, I mispoke.

It was only $4 more a year.... (cheap bike)

My bad again... I went and looked and it is liability, comprehensive AND collision.

The best part is the accesory coverage, $3000 in coverage for your gear in a collision.

Trooper has my vote, not only for the bike but the cars, house etc. I think he even has a room to stay in if he needs it.

Trooper is a really good member of this forum who got banned for some board politics. At least that is the only side of the story that I know. He wanted to become a sponsor so he could help members out but the board would not let him.

Either way I have never heard a bad word about the guy. Only great things, I actually predict that when I do meet him he will have a white glow surrounding him.

FWIW, unlike a bunch of you kids driving high dollar, high HP scooters, unless Trooper was paying me to use insurance he couldn't have done much more then
a few dollars better. The last "insurance" guy on this board I tried to deal with ended up being such a PITA I just sorced it myself.

Good for him though, not knocking him....

(my full coverage is less then $80 a year....)

(advantages of being a old fart on a low HP, non-sport bike)
