Seeing that this happened in a rural location with a "rural" person and it was committed
against sport bike riders possibly from the big city, I highly doubt ANYTHING will come of it other than a few high fives for the redneck from the local authorities.

If they let people off for killing sport bike riders as it is, they sure as are not going to do to this guy.

No way, no how,

I've had this happen 2 times on 3090.

Once a redneck in a truck
Once, an old lady in a car.

This was several years ago, when I road the backroad twisties a lot.
Although I will admit we might have been riding a little fast (within 10 of the speed limits and about 1-1/2 posted corner speeds... Nothing really unsafe for the group of riders involved). I can see how people living on these roads can get at sportbikes flying down their road, but i don't see how they think killing one with their car is the right thing to do about it.

Just another reason I don't ride the streets much anymore.

It's real easy, there's no real 'thought' involved it's reactionary... you can find plenty of examples of the same in this thread.

True.

HOWEVER, It amazes me how many people take it upon themselves to 'teach' other's a lesson or to 'govern' them. It's not any other persons' duty to control another.

Ifr you're right handed, then you'll be shooting off hand while traveling on a bouncing moving platform - or use your right hand and have no throttle control. This is, of course, if you aren't (likely) using both hands to try to keep from getting run off the road and killed. If the threat's already subsided, then you are no longer justified and will likely be prosecuted yourself for brandishing and threatening with it. If you should actually happen to get a shot off, it's most likely going somewhere other than where you intended. If it DOES actually hit the guy and the shot was from behind, you're likely prosecuted. If you're on his side at the time and he's swerving, that may be seen as justified - but that would be the main time you would want both hands for bike control. It really doesn't work too well in any direction of rational thought. If one of those errant shots hits someone or something else, good luck with that. Surely they discussed such things at your concealed carry class or are you just "ridin' dirty with yo 9?"

I ride like that all the time on the street. What's the big deal?

Redneck should have got the fukk beat out of him. Drunk, out of control, wielding a 5000 lb truck heavily loaded.

How often does a biker kill anyone other than themselves? Hmm, it happens, but not that often. Usually cagers just have mental scars from a car vs bike crash.
