To some, that is all that matters.
This. A lot of design characteristics are compromises to acheive max performacne while still meeting all applicable laws. A prime example of this is the new exhaust systems: the current "mass centralization" principles mean low slung pipes that don't go all the way to the rear of the bike. However, they also have to have catalytic converters, and meet noise standads.

Triumph changed the lights on the 2012 Street Triple R to something looking like a cross-eyed bug, very strange, and in my opinion, not as pretty as the old twin circular lights....

I am curious what Yamaha will do with the new R6 design that is supposed to be forthcoming. The current bike is probably the best/sharpest looking one out there

You didnt understand what i meant so here it is in full .

Honda may not be the best example to show the trend of bikes getting uglier. But kawasaki on the other hand is, because then new zx10r looks worse than a 90s Hyundai Tiburon.

Technology is the reason he doesnt have it anymore?

After the hideous 999, Ducati went back to making their bikes look like the old 916s and 748s. Split headlights, single swing arm. The current ones look just like sharper, updated versions of the older ones.
