With the frequency of bike thefts in that area it doesn't seem like it would be all that difficult to run a sting with a bait bike. Not that we should expect cops to do police work or anything..

It's been bad over there for so long the fact that the police don't do anything about it is criminal in itself. It's been years. They tried stealing my truck over there in '04. There was an "epidemic" of thefts in that area at the time, and here it is seven years later and that's still one of the worst places in town. Ridiculous.

I'd be willing to use my bike as bait if a group wants to do a stakeout, kick some mother , and throw the thug off a bridge and into a bayou

That is were they took it from. It sucks that I'm not the only one dealing this problem. They could at least put notify us bikes are being taken, park at your own risk. If other folk have had issues, you think some precuations would be taken.
I asked TMC parking and St. Lukes if anyone even had a camera pointed at that spot. They both told me no.
[U]In the end, they can't control the actions of people. It is so frustrating to have this happen[/U
]As far as crime in general in the med center
The officer I talked to said they have had a problem with car break-ins there, because there is no real punishment coming from the court system. Some one breaks in, gets caught, they get held for a day or so then released with a misdemoner. No real incentive to stop.

This. This is the 3rd bike (just that I know about), including mine, that has been stolen from the Med Center just in itself.

Sorry for your loss. I hope the mother wrecks and bleeds out on the side of the road. Yes, seriously.

Dude, you know, some vigilante justice is really starting to sound appealing. You know, Punisher and all...

Same thing with stealing wheels off of cars too. Less than 1 in 10 are ever caught so not much is done about it.

REally nice bike man. I hope you get it back. I hate thieves. Someone actually tried to break into my house, after I left, scoping me out. Makes me wish evil things , even though I shouldn't.
