Sidenote, I would be completely in favor of removing the assists in place on many of the bikes.

Same here BUT Moto GP IS where they develop the technology for the street. One of the only reasons that factories even tolerate having race teams.

Yea, that's kinda the way I feel. MotoGP, like F1, needs to be the class with just enough restrictions to level the playing field. Beyond that, it should be were manufacturers test the latest and greatest kit. This includes rider aids.
