I've witnessed this twice now

been on the beltway and saw a moto cop ride to the center white line as he went through the toll booth. This was on different days and doubtful although possible it was the same cop. So, there must be truth to the story that if on the double EZTAG lanes that if you ride the center white stripe, it doesnt register.
I dunno, I roll eztag on my bike and trucks, but just an interesting observation I thought I would share.

Not sure, I roll with an eztag on my bike, but the only time it has ever registered (as in they charged me) was on westpark tollway or through the entrance/exit booths. Otherwise middle of the lane, between two lanes, doesnt seem to matter as I set off the red light (where they still have one) but my account is never charged.

It works. You can see the little markers in the road you need to avoid. Not condoning or suggesting this type of action of course.

Solo officers and other agencies ride their own personal bikes and get a monthly $$$ for maintenance and wear & tear on their bikes. As far as the toll road, they're not going to get compensated because they don't patrol the toll roads. (unless of course they are constables but they don't have bike patrols specfic to the toll road) So an officer splitting the toll plaza is just as guilty of trying to beat the system the same as you and I.

Its so nice to know that the people who should know what integrity means, and "frown apon us" and give us tickets for the simplest illiegal , go ahead and do the same thing.

How many cops smoke weed, or worse, I bet.

I saw the moto Constable do it this morning and two moto sheriffs do it this afternoon.
I've been riding my bike with the tag for almost a month now and I'll split the lane. Only one charge thus far.

Here is the kicker....I went over the ship channel bridge twice in the same day and did not try to avoid anything and my account was not charged. I guess I've got too much aluminum or something...

Yep, that is true. If you ride the white line, they can't get a pic of your plate. Of course, there are consequences if there happens to be an officer sitting in his car.

Funny I posted this thread and then yesterday, JUST YESTERDAY, I get a letter with a fine and a picture of my bike with me on it scooting through, in the picture to the left of my bike is the center stripe, the picture was almost 2 lanes wide, so they definately can get your plate. Mine showed up plain as day.

Hahaha.... That sucks, but I have seen people do it too, but no lights ever flashed on the Beltway.. As for Westpark... GOODLUCK! They will catch you no matter where you drive in the lane... The only time I didnt give a **** was when I first got my car and I didnt have plates yet.. I still had an ez tag, but I hid it so it wouldnt charge me.... I went to the Westpark every single day.. Way out to school/work, and going back home. [:

nope, it didnt fail, in the picture I was riding right down the center of my lane where I belonged. I wasn't trying to cheat the light, I have the EZTAG on my bike. Its an easy ticket for me to beat, they will simply charge me the correct fee for the booth because I do have an account. I dunno why it didnt read the tag, but it triggered the camera with my bike going through the "box" in the lane.

the eztag camera is activated by the dissruption of the magnetic feild caused by the box shaped coil of wire they put in the center of each lane (like stoplight triggers). When a mass of metal goes through the invisible feild, its causes dissruption blah, blah, blah...thats why they ride the white center line, so to avoid the boxes that are sawcut into each lane.
