Both bikes are plenty fast for a first bike IMO, anything less you will just get bored in a few weeks. + on the streets you need that extra power to get out of trouble.

Welcome

Wrong again- it's called a GIXTER!

And for your question? Neither. Too much, too soon. VERY easy to get yourself into trouble on a 600, why push your luck ever further...especially for a first bike?

first of all have you ever rode before and what? also do you have exparience and how much? what are the asking price for them? A 1000 has alot of POWER its not like any other bike that is smaller like 750, 600, these will actually scare thi out of you if you cant handle it. One more thing is how much do you weigh thats another factor if you weigh less than 200 and your first bike your looking for trouble. Good luck if you have any other questions PM me

i started off on a 500, and just recently bought a new zx6r (600)... there is a huge difference in just that small jump, and im satisfied.. i mean really, how often will you hit more than 140 mph? i weigh 164 and am 5 ft 5... i could have gone bigger, but i just know myself. i would end up dead on 45 somewhere, lol... its all about knowing yourself, and doing whats the safest, not the coolest, but a 1000 is tooooo much power for a first bike. Good luck!!!!
