S1000 RR vs ZX10R

Just got back from riding with Carlos on his new 2011 ZX10R....

we did a second gear roll on and the bmw pulled ahead all the way from 2nd to 5th gear, had traffic in front of us so didnt go to 6th gear tonight but i am hoping we can do this again on a sunday morning with less traffic and see if the results changes at all.

most roll ons / drag race are on straight lines..... it is to compare performance of the motor and not the handling of the bikes

Not hating on the BMW, but did the ZX10 have the Stock ECU? the American ECUs are restricted from the factory(20+ HP restriction). With the European ECU it would be more of a comparison.

Its my understanding that Gadson's ZX10 piloted by little Richard ran the fastest time ever on a completely stock bike (completely stocked being defined as unchanged wheelbase, unchanged stock internals, mod list was: gearing, pipe, midpipe, fuel controller, longer chain on stock swingarm, lower, strapped)

And yes the biggest problem with the ZX10r is massive restrictions on US (and even EUR) models that severely limit their power. Also roll-ons favor BMW stock gearing with the tranny ratios, the ZX10r launches better but would need to be geared differently for roll-ons.

I really dont know if Carlos had stock ecu or not but knowing him, he never keeps any of his bikes stock! I saw a leo vince pipe but couldnt tell if it was just a slip on or full system.
