I like the electronics on the newer bikes. I would favor a newer bike with traction control and "nanny" power control settings like the "rain" mode on the BMW (for when I only need 140hp, and not the whole 198 or whatever ). Right now that is the BMW, and to a lesser extent, the 2011 ZX10R. I think those features make the bikes safer for an average rider (especially the BMW), and I rank safety as a higher priority than price.

I bet the new literbikes from Suzuki and Honda will have those features soon.

That said, you can also get a 2008 CBR for a good price, and then use the savings to put in Bazazz ECU and traction control, etc. That would probably make the bike bit safer (and certainly faster), but would probably not be as full featured as the factory electronics packages on the new bikes.

I heard that the new Honda CBR 1000 RR is going to be super fast, with TC, QS and ABS, there are rumors about being a V4 instead of an inline 4!

That might be a bike worth waiting for, especially if it can beat the BMW on price.

If bike sales don't pick up it may be a long wait

Haha no, that's an RC-45 - a real OG bike from back in the day.

V4 engine, single sided swingarm and Honda reliability, whats not to like. Priced well above CBR. If its true just how much of an upgrade will honda invest upgrading the balde next year.Especailly since its already a kick bike or the money.

Share is not the same as total sales. What's 100% share of nothing?

I will be looking for a new dream machine when I move to Houston next month.

Have just sold an 07 R1. I love the current one but heard its pretty guttles. I also like the new ZX10r but heard its really revy like a 600 and you need to pin it in the high revs 11000 plus to feel the power, not much good on the street. Also had the 05 zx10r,amazing engine but it was top heavy and used to headshake like a motherf*****, put me off kawi.

So with that in mind Im looking at either the 09+ fireblade or the beemer. Not sure though if the beemer is worth the extra money or if it has the same torque delivery through the range like the blade.

Does anyone on here have experience of riding any these bikes or better still them all in able to make a comparisom. I find its better to here straight from someone who actually rides the bike and has parted with there own cash, rather than believe magazine reviews which seem to hype the latest models then slate them as soon as the new bike is out.

Any info on any of these bikes genuinely appreciated.
I am in the same exact situation, it all depends on what you have to do with the bike. If you'll never go in a track, just buy the one you like the most.

I also heard those bad rumors about the new R1.

why are you considering only >09 blades and not 08?
I would also consider the RSV 1000 R Factory, I saw one on Cycletrader of 2009 for 10k!!!
