So I am riding to work this morning and almost get killed cause of a couch.

Yup, full couch on the freeway.I was riding and I smelled burnt rubber and immediately knew something was up. I get all the way to the left on the left lane almost on the emergency lane when a truck to my right swerves into my lane. I was almost off the lane anyway but the cars ahead of me just start slamming brakes and I just got on the shoulder and was keeping an eye behind me on the mirrors as I was slowing watching for anyone jumping out in front of me.

I was getting ready to just stop the bike by the wall if I had to and jump into the opposite shoulder.

Thats when I see the couch. A few cars are already pulled off to the right, they either hit it or hit another car. What a cluster that was.

SO, to what degree is the person that lost the couch accountable for anything that happens because of their couch on the road?

Pretty sure they are not liable for cars hitting each other but they have to legally be accountable for something.

Glad you are ok. people that lose their on the freeway. Couches, ladders, large trash bags, hardhats. need to learn how to load their correctly. Not to mention they need to join the boy scouts to learn knot tying. That way their won't come undone. blowholes.

Yeah, look at YankeeR6, he died cause of this same .

I was on Mopac on my car and there was a queen size mattress on the middle lane. I mean, these suckers know that they lost some furniture and they dont bother to pick it up. I stopped, ran back and dragged it off to the shoulder before someone hit it.

Yup, it blows. People on that freeway drive like .

If there is someone ahead of you and you going slower and you try to pass them, they will speed up and keep speeding up as like to not let you pass. Happened 3 times today. They are going like 60 and I get over to pass them and next thing you know I am doing 80 cause they sped up so -dammed much.

I feel like this sometimes.
fuuuuck

I need to get one of these bikes.

All over Texas, and especially here in Houston I've avoided ladders, a chair, bags of concrete, what appeared to be a tent, and more bumpers than I can count. Oh yea, and idiots playing frogger on the freeway. Run over some of this stuff in the car, but always managed to avoid everything but animals and small car parts on the bike.

You're in Austin. UT Students are moving out now that the semester is over or moving to other places in the city, and they probably dont know on moving properly or have the proper equipment. I-35 is a shithole.

I've taken out a doll house, large teddy bear.... and on the freeway, a brand new chip-display complete with chips. The last one the guy saw it come out, clip my car and he hauled ....

I have ridden to work 6 times in a year and a half and came very close to death 3 times.

Hopefully I will cave my car running tonight or tomorrow.

I'm lucky I don't get on 35 to go to work. Since moving here it seems like people are 10x more likely lane jump on you than anywhere I've ever lived
