awww i judge ppl all the time based on their opinions ! most ppl do !

i hope the OP has gotten some answers from this. If the friend respects your opinion, he will take it slow and get experience and be alright. If he's not much of a buddy to you, at least give it a try. something is better than nothin

They both showed up to measure penises, and both claimed it was cold out.

Nobody is telling the guy what to ride, only giving opinions on his choice.

I do wish to know what happened with the meet up.

I hope some were flyin...

Same rule absolutely doesn't apply. Completely ignoring the increased margin of error being on 4 wheels gives you, you wouldn't let a new driver, as in a 16 year old, drive a new vette would you? Insurance for a young driver on a high power car is VERY high because the statistics state that these drivers are highly likely to damage such a vehicle. Same for a new rider on a big-power bike.

I haven't read the whole thread...is this someone I know? lol

Have them rent a 250r and leathers and do a few trackdays, assuming they have completed MSF already. After maybe 5 or so trackdays, they should feel comfortable/safe on a liter.

Not sure what to say... If I KNEW somone who didnt belong on a liter bike and he bought one after talking to him about it several times I would probaly not ride with him... It really ruins a ride when you wait for the Cops and ambulance to come pick up your friend. Then you haul off his up liter bike so it does not get towed away. All this because he looped it trying to show you how good he is. This really ruins a day......... Just sayin. Of course this is not every case just one I was put into and I would not do it again if I could avoid it.

This thread turned into bs..does everyone here look too much into things people say?..let me rephrase everything and give a bs statement to satisfy all the people that like to take what people say and start talkin ..yes you should tell him he could be making a mistake by buying a litre bike based on his exp. He should start out on a less powerful bike, take msf,get his M endorsement, do about 5 trackdays atleast and wear full leathers, boots, helmet, body armour, and u might wana wrap everything u can in bubble wrap and tell him he's not being responsible by getting what HE wants with HIS money... Come on..his friend is at least 18 I'm assuming and by law he's a grown man..if u don't agree with someone riding something U think is too much for them then don't ride anywhere close to them..matter of fact just move somewhere else or just keep getting him drunk and making him pass out to avoid him being on the roads. Thank u for reading and have a nice day. Peace out

They're already scared shitless of the bike (probably the same story on a 600cc).
Two likely outcomes. Will wreck or sit up for a year and eventually be sold. Find some youtube videos of wrecks. Try to educate on how easy it to make a mistake and how having a more powerful machine will only make that easier.

We might be able to understand you better without the run-on sentences and squished together paragraph.

This isn't about walking up to every new guy with a bike and telling them they need to be riding something else. This is about one guy who bought a bike that is probably too much for him, will probably get him injured or killed, and his friend who is concerned for him.

I don't believe in dictating what someone does with their money or what kind of bike they ride, even for a starter. However I as a concerned motorcyclist will try to explain the dangers of riding a powerful bike while inexperienced. And yes, I will call them an idiot and hound them about it if I have to.

I don't want to force anyone to do anything, but I don't want to see a new rider dead because he got something he couldn't control.
