Rider Down (Crab River)

On the way back from MSR, RJV went down on his Duc Motard.
He was wearing all his gear, which saved him.

He hit some gravel coming out of the last real turn going towards 59 by the lake.
He bailed and flew into the ditch. He bike hit the post.

EMS showed up and checked him out.

Will post pics later.

THIS GOES TO ALL THE SQUIDS THAT RODE TO CRAB RIVER THIS MORNING!

WEAR YOUR GEAR, IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT, BUY IT OR DON'T RIDE.
IT MAKES PEOPLE UNEASY.

Oh man that sucks.
Sorry to hear you went down man.
Was that you hanging around with Viney today?
If so, maybe I met you briefly?

Sorry about the bike. We were going to take Crabb up to the BBQ and I had even just slightly considered it for the trip back. Glad we didn't today.

Glad you're ok and no broken bones!

Good to hear you are ok...but lame that you were wearing gear...

No cool points for you, wife beater, shorts, sandals and helmet (strapped to the tail) that's the way REAL riders ride.

Yep when I was young and not so intelligent. I highsided my 4wheeler at around 45mph on a limestone gravel rd. All I had on at the time was my Bell Moto4, gloves, nike hightops, and a pair of cutoff bluejean shorts. It didn't really hurt until I got home and in the shower. You should have heard the rocks hitting the tub as I was pulling the washrag back and fourth across my back. Hit on my left shoulder and rolled to my right hip. I was bleeding from all points BOTH ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, and wrists.

That was a terrifying wreck that could of been much worse if it wasn't for the good gear RJ had on. Hopefully the doc didn't find any other injuries the medics didn't diagnose. Just so glad he's OK and this was deff one of those times that reiterates the importance of proper gear and riding with ppl you know and trust especially when you're so far from home.

Sorry about the incident but man I am glad you're ok. +1 for riding with great gear, +2 for riding with good, caring friends like this group. I would jump at any opportunity to help any of these guys bc I know they'd do the same for me.

Not difficult to remember... difficult to remember how to pronounce correctly.
I was thinking. "Is the first part a "K" or a "Q" sound, middle an "O or a "U", and is it "ng" or just "n"?

I'll be getting a better jacket soon, and remembering to follow with plenty of space... it could've turned real ugly if we weren't as spaced out as we were.

And for the record, we weren't even pushing it.

RJ got the soft ditch almost to the lower concrete portion, right next to barb wire, the duc got the gaurdrail seat first.
