Categories by geographical location

what would you all think if MH set up categories by location ?

woud this be something you all would go for

for me not really in houston, i am in angeton i know there are other members in my aria but really have no direct way to chat or find them to ride ,, other than searching old post ex

so what do you all think if they add to the "forum home" screan some forums by location for example

north side
south side
east side
west side
central
galveston

ex

would this be something you think woudl help the new members to get with others in thier perspective area?

poll and leave some input

Have you tried the member map? I know not everyone signs up, but it's a start.

yeah

just thought it would be simple to have a forum for general locations , just a thought , i have guys i ride with but when they are at work like today or tied up with the family , i thought it would be easy to just pull up MH and hit the angleton forum see who is on line and would be up for a ride ex

just simple quick way to post with others in each perspective location

Let's divide up central into a couple different options...I don't know if I want to meet up with people from the ghetto parts of "inside the loop."

I had brought something similar up to the guys not long ago. Lots of things that could be done.

In the meantime, you can always use:

1. http://www.motohouston.com/forums/me....php?do=search
2. Put angleton in the location
3. Befriend whomever
4. Then use your buddy list (which now should be visible but wasnt)
(quick links > buddy list)

Its irritating when members/new members dont list a location. Some come in asking for help and we don't have any idea what side of town they are on.

I like the idea. It would still leave the general discussion sections for group MH topics but would allow an easily accessed specialized subsection for those looking for a group ride or a helping hand. I live outside the beltway on the NE side. That being said, will I ever go on a group ride with someone from Galveston and another from Stafford? Sure. Will it be every week? No way. Much easier to organize a small local meet/group ride when there is an easy place to look and see who is where.

Don't fear change, gents. Houston is a big city, both population wise and geographically; this would make an already awesome forum better.

I like the idea of maybe having sub-forums under the meet and greet section for the larger and more common meet groups ie: North, West, SW and SE. I vote to leave central and PP1 meets in the general meet section. You also have the option to post what side the ride is for in the title. Like "Angleton ride Saturday" etc etc...

But separating the general discussion into different areas is a bit too much. Even as it is now, when someone goes into a paying sponsors sub-forum to ask a question, by the time the actual sponsor has had time to reply, there are already various misinformed and biased replies.

what if you flag the location to the side in the meet and greet post using the icon block - For example you could add icons with a white N in a red block, white S in a blue block, etc. so people could quickly scan for meets in their area.
