Question what kind of air compressor for painting

What kind of air compressor could I get away with using to paint all the plastics on my f4i? I've got a smaller Rigid brand compressor that doesn't seem to hold as much.air as needed to have clean even layers. Although ive never tried using it to ain't, but it does seem to run out of air rather quickly. Any help.would be great, thanks!
