Did you buy your gopro from a Chinese site? Is gopro spelled wrong on the camera body? I think I've found the problem.

I have a couple of these. I haven't used them on the bike as yet, but in the car they're just great.

This web site has more information than you'd ever want to know about the "808 car key micro camera".

I stopped by the store, picked up a thing of tic tacs...got home, doesnt fit at all. Looked at the tic tac box, its the 'Big Pack'

Wife was still out and about, so I had her pick up the regular size...thing fits absolutely perfectly...and yes, that thing in the video IS a tic tac box...exact same markings.

Here's a video of the camera and the tic tac box...but not actual video taken with the camera yet. I haven't charged it yet.

It appears that Hi-tech sells the #8 version of the camera and that the best version to get is the #3 version.

Why is #3 better? Can you post an ebay link to a genuine #3 camera.

I'll have a video tomorrow night. Played with it a little today, sound is terrible, but most people record over with a song anyway. I'm really excited though. I've always wanted a GoPro but couldn't justify the cost when there's so much other stuff I need before that. I don't need 1080P to know my body position / lines suck.

So everyone will get to see my afternoon commute, it'll be really exciting..../sarcasm.

the ebay seller is located in NY

after watching the video....im still about 1/2 and 1/2 on the 808 vs the other one the guy was showing the the video

808 uses 1 gb to produce 11 minute the records a smaller perspective....

but seeing it fit right into that tic- tac box makes it look like an awesome case

I don't understand why the tictac box is necessary. How do you fit the tittac box on the helmet and why not use whatever way that is to hold the camera directly to the helmet.

I have this camera already and it works but it is supposed to be a "spy" camera looking like a car alarm key chain and the buttons to operate it are not very clear. I always forget how it switches from the photo mode to video taking, you don't know if it is recording or not and the Chinese to English translation of the 2"x3" single page manual are a joke...

All that being said, it about $10 to get one so I didn't expect much from it and the video quality is impressive (for $10)!

Scottie posted up a link in this thread that gives a lot of detailed info. That is where I was getting the info that the #3 is better. Check it out, they have posted up some dealers on ebay that offer the #3

uploading a video to youtube as I type.

Thoughts?

Not as good as the video in the original post...but it might be worse because of where I had it mounted was behind the windscreen and my windscreen was dirty.

Video was approximately 14 minutes long and took up half a gig. Typical track sessions are 20 minutes, so you're looking at 3/4 GB per session. So you'll probably want at least 4 free GB if you plan on using it for a track day.

I'll have a link up with it's done loading...its taking forever, says there's still 67 minutes left.

Here it is...long boring video with terrible sound:

13:15 has how its mounted. Its on a fork mounted radar detector mount

I really think once I clean the windscreen it'll look a lot better, we'll see.

Haha, I knew someone would say something about that. That road was bumpy as which accounts for some of the shakiness and there's always a lot of pigs on it so I keep the RPMs pretty high to hopefully scare them away. There's not many houses close to the road and where there are I slow down.

I never take that road on the bike, but its a little more scenic than the road I usually take.

The black out around 10 minutes is where I put my glove over the camera. Figured it would be a bad idea to have a video of how to get to my house on the internet...lol.

My 13.5 minute video was .55 GB. So divide that, multiply it by the supposed battery life of 90 minutes, you get 3.66.

So I'd say 4GB class 6 microSD card is enough for an hour and a half of recording time.

FYI, probably the battery will die before that...
