well i guess the boots did there job, not much you can do to stop bone breakage with an impact like that, but at least they kept all the squishy stuff inside, more or less in one (or at least a minimum number of) peices.

don't worry about the metal detectors and a compound fracture is when the bone protrudes from the skin. I know from experience. Both the tib and fib came out.

Broken tibula in 2 places and fibula in 1 wearing alpinestars on my 96 RM250.
1 rod from my knee down to my ancle and 3 pins/screws holding it together.

When i broke my legs since i cause damaged to the femoral atery in my legs. The damage cause blood to clot up in the artey and the clot got disloged and went up my aorta. Luckly it didnt go all the way up to my heart and into my lungs. But to prevent the event that one did go "all the way" they put that filter in. When i was in the hospital the doctors an nurses referred to a clot becoming dislodged and going to another part of the body "throwing a clot".

Paul, that's what happened, but I was referring to "the same thing happened to me" to the injury, not the accident itself.

Kevin! Whats up man? Hope you're still healing up. Pics still look as bad as when I saw them on Speedzilla... Get better so we can rip it up at TWS (Texas World Speedway) or Cresson again...
