Austin area riders -- LIME CREEK police warning

Slow down on Lime Creek. Just got tagged doing 66 in a 40 on Lime Creek riding 2 up. There were 3 speed checkpoints throughout the 6 mile road. Officer was very nice considering. He mentioned they are looking for non-M endorsement riders. I am currently at the park about 3 miles in resting.

Nice road to ride down. Only been down it once, didn't seem to be a road that many would speed on.

I got tagged on that long straightaway right after you turn onto lime creek from Anderson Mill. Its pretty long and pretty straight. A definite speed trap.

If you go straight on commanche trail by the oasis.. wow man. Gotta love that road. Its short and a dead end, but its worth the few miles of road cut into the rocks with a of a look out over travis.

I know that road. A couple of friends crashed there once. One went down and as he was getting up, his buddy behind him nailed him with his body after he wrecked behind him. I still crack up when I think a about it.

Now I had to go look up some Youtube videos to see what the heck you were talking about. I certainly found plenty trying to drag knee....most were trying to hang way off the bike with the anticipation of trying to get that knee down.

I guess I'm of a different breed. Too many blind curves with private drives right past the apex to have any real fun (speed wise). For me, it's more of a road to kick back and enjoy the scenery.

The best part of Lime Creek isn't that populated, but it is all slow, tight corners with odd cambers and occasional sand.

You can have plenty of fun without hauling down the straights.

That road had more loose gravel than I expected. My front stepped out on me and puckered up my azzhole.

I've been told to stay away from Lime Creek just simply because it's dangerous, unpredictable and full of stupid drivers.
