Track upper / factory lower plastics

Any idea if these will fit together? I have a 09 ZX-6R. Recently purchased the upper (Sharkskinz) for my bike...can't afford the lower yet. Figured I'd knock out the most expensive piece first while I have the money...so I can't spend it on something else.

I'm expecting the answer to be no...but I'm pretty sure hotbodies' lower works with the factory upper...so I'm HOPING that sharkskinz is the same.

I don't think so, different bike but I checked with HB to see if their race lower would fit my oem upper on an 09 10R and the answer was not without major modification.

I didn't even think about it when I ordered it...I was just thinking it would fit...and then I started to actually think...haha.

It looks like it might line up, but I can't tell. It's supposed to ship in approx. 10 days, so I guess I'll know then!

there is a possibility. usually the fiberglass lowers have a better chance at fitting the OEM uppers.

i've painted/repaired pretty much every brand of bodywork available and can tell you that sharkskinz and attack performance are probably the only 2 companies that would ever be possible with. any other brand would most definitely require some major modifications.

if you're ever in need of paintwork shoot me a PM. i've painted 100+ racebikes over the years.

Well, I got a response from sharkskinz:
"Hi,
Yes, should work. When you do get the lower, it won't work with the stock catalytic converter because it's enclosed for oil retention regulations. It will get too hot in there.
Also, it's going to be about 10 business days before the upper ships.
Thanks,
Mary"

So it looks like it should...but I'm still not getting my hopes up.

Thanks for the offer HOP, but I can't afford to have someone do it for me. I'll either rattle can it or get it wrapped. I've heard nothing but good things about sharkskinz, but it's good to hear it from someone with experience with all types of different body work.

rattle can will be cheap....

wrapped would probably cost more than what i'd charge to paint.

Yea...the more I look at prices on vinyl wrap...its pretty expensive.

I just hope people don't mistake me as being a good rider because I have race plastics...if they do, they'll find out soon enough after they see how slow I am...haha.
