Seems like a lot of you guys are pretty old and can't appreciate doing something just for the fun of it.

My friend at school goes home (Galveston to Dallas) in roughly 4 hours in his civic...so if you cant ride Htown to Dtown in less than that then there is a problem.

I would think you could take the back roads up there, then come back down on the Fway...you'll need to make plenty of "" stops after eating in-n-out

For those who use a stupid burger as an excuse for a road trip...

Good road trips are founded on flimsy excuses. Enjoy the ride, stay safe.

*** *** ***

For those who REALLY DO want that burger... WTF?!

Sure, I eat a burger 'bout every day. Then again, I work in a small town with all of maybe a dozen places to eat, and they're nearly all burger. Isn't there someone who can honestly say, "Gee, you know what, I don't care how good it is -- how about something other than another Mother-####ing -#### hamburger?"

Seriously, shame on you for getting excited about an In-And-Out burger. You know why you want it? Why you want specifically THAT brand - so bad you'd drive halfway across a state that's 1/3 the length of the country?

Because it sounds sexual, that's why. That's right, you just got manipulated by the psychology of advertising. . Now I want a milkshake. See what you did?

I *might* ride 5 hours (ok it is 3 hours... if you ride like I do) for a hairless furburger, no cheeze, hold the pickle. But not for another round of ground cow on a bun.

Lol, "hairless furburger" is a contradiction in terms.

Funny thing is, I've been wanting to ride up that way, just to play on the I-45 feeder roads north of Huntsville. Every time I drive that route, I look at them and think "that would be fun". I actually jumped off one time in the old Trans Am for a bit...

So if you plan to do this trip, add in a little fun instead of straight up and back.

All my weekends are busy for June tho... anyone want to do a weekday trip? Less traffic and crowds at the In and Out..

I'm open for suggestions on fun roads :-) I know of a few in groesbeck/Marquez/centerville but there are too many cops out there for me to incorporate them I too want to do a weekday but then there is the issue of traffic. I'm aiming towards a vacant weekend in early June

Another video for all you haters:
(Click the video title for it to work)

In-n-out is the best there is, whataburger does not hold a candle to it, and as far as cooking one yourself, I agree they can be good but its comparing apples and oranges. If you haven't tried in-n-out, try it sometime then talk if you don't like it.

I have friends that have lived in Dallas their whole live and we have always talked to each other about which was better; in-n-out or whataburger. After they tried an in-n-out I got a call that they all took back their whataburger raves.

Well, if you change your mind and want to do a weekday, let me know.
I think there will be less traffic on a week day, once you get out of Houston.

Now that's thought. I did the drive to Dallas over the weekend to hit up Moto Liberty and noticed the feeder roads. I even drove on them for a few miles.

We considered going to In-N-Out but found an amazing Italian place instead. Sorry Ormand.
