It's a well established finance company. Call them and take care of it over the phone.

I've tried talking to Yamaha (twice) and they say the only option is for the current owner of the note to pay it off and then the title is sent out to them. That's what I'm trying to avoid. I want the title then and there or at least being sent to me

I make the bank check out to the finance company so no-one but the lein holder can cash the check.

Plates must stay with bike, otherwise the buyer has to pay for new plates.

That might just be the best advice yet.

Do your internet research on the buyer (e.g., match phone number they give to their home address before you meet them, look for other evidence that they exist AND are who they say they are). Bring any necessary tools to properly check out the bike. Bring paperwork (e.g., 130-U, bill of sale template, etc.).

I'm looking at purchasing a Royal Enfield, which I don't know much about. Anyone here have any experience with the Bullet Classics and would be willing to come check one out with me? Also, someone said earlier to use Patrick - is he the owner of Motorcycles Unlimited? How much has he charged to look at a bike? Would he be willing to come to the site?
