Both days went really smooth. Late Sunday morning got a little sketchy, but not terribly bad.

Crash truck wasn't used for crashes all day Saturday. It had to pick up a couple mechanical issued bikes but that was it. There were a couple of low sides all day that were able to ride off.

Sunday was going really good as well. Had a little bit of action between 4 and 5, one was a bus ride. Kid said he thought his leg was broke in his boot. He was on a triumph 675 that was almost completely unscathed. Need rear brake and he would have been good to go.

The only other bad accident was coming out of turn 9. Rider was ok but the bike was smashed to pieces as it hit the retaining wall. Looked to be the special edition zx6 (~2006) that was silver with red flames.

Couldn't have asked for better weather in mid may. College Station just got a heavy rain a few days ago which kept the dust down but it wasnt muddy. I had my sweater on corner working all day saturday and through lunch on sunday, so I know all the guys in leathers were loving that.

Looking forward to cashing in on these track days I've accumulated by corner working. I'll be out there for the first time this season @ TWS (Texas World Speedway) W/ RideSmart on may 30th...cant wait.

I was there both days. The weather could not have been better. I was asked to move my school day from Saturday to Sunday and agreed to that, so I was out on the 10R Saturday trying to get comfortable. Went ahead and got some nice new Pirelli's spooned on, and had Roger help set the suspension up. Took my time all of Saturday in B group and just could not get comfortable on the 10R. Actually had just about decided to sell it and stick with motards, 2V Ducati powered bikes, and standards. Last session Saturday, I said "screw it" and took the motard out and had an instructor follow me around (Kent). Kent said I has no issues on the tard from what he could see, so I needed to go back to the basics on the 10R and work up to a comfort level.

Sunday rolled around and I took the school. Tom was my instructor. Started of by asking the best question, "What are you trying to accomplish?". Easy, I wanted to get comfortable on the 10R like I was comfortable on the motards. Speed will come later. Tom's approach was to work on one thing at a time. First session was reference points, then second was one gear, no brakes drill all the way around the track, then third was to add in braking and rolling completely on the throttle, fourth was to show me a proper line through turn one (low), then alternative line (high) and a different line through 10. By the end of the day, I was grinning just like I do on the motards.

Great experience and great time. LSTD staff were all helpful and everyone pitted around us was friendly and helpful as well.

Looks like I wil be keeping the 10R.

I did the Advanced Rider School on Saturday, and Tom put me through the same drills. I was a different (better, smoother, and yes, quite a bit faster) rider when I ran my last session Sunday from the dude without reference points who showed up Saturday morning.

Huge props to Tom and LSTD.

To everyone else, pay for the extra instruction whenever you can, whatever track day organization you roll with. With unlimited seat time, maybe you can figure it out for yourself. For everyone else, nothing beats having an expert point the way.

I rode Saturday and it went really well. Perfect weather and no bad crashes made for a day about as good as it gets. It was my second trackday and it felt night and day difference from my first one. I took the C group school and felt it helped alot. I got better throughout the day except for the last session when fatigue set in

I noticed a photographer laying on the ground right inside turn 1 during the Intermediate group on Sunday afternoon, but the Cafe-pics dude said he only shot the Sunday AM session.

Anyone know who this guy was???
