Dealing with bugs on the freeway

How do you guys deal with bugs on long distance rides?

My ideal solution would be some sort of wax or something that makes it really easy to take the bugs off when I get off the bike.

I'm not really interested in the paint protecting film, because i'd still have the same problems with the bugs sticking to the film.

Anyone have any experience with some kind of bug anti-stick compound?

I just wax my bike once a month and use Windex to take the bugs off after a ride. After Windex, I use TurtleWax Ice detailer and a microfiber cloth. But I have a cruiser....not sure how well that would work on plastic fairings.

It'll work just the same. A clearcoat is a clearcoat.

Or just do what I do. . . . .who cares if the bike is dirty.

Dude who painted my bike taught me this.

Spray vegetable oil on the front of your bike. Whenever you're done riding, just run some water over the front and the bugs kinda fall off.

It gets a little messy at times, but it beats love bugs eating through a fresh paint job.

I imagine the dirt does a great job of hiding all those scratches!

+1

My last road trip I think a cicada or something similar sized hit me straight on my visor dead center. I could see the about 10 feet ahead coming straight for me. Of course this was on the highway and no time to react. BAM. Slight whiplash.

I hate when you catch a large bug directly to the mouth vent with it open.
