Hard to start YZ80

Im new to the forum and would like to know if you guys could help me diagnose my problem. On my 1985 yz 80 when i go to start it i have to take off the plug boot and kick it about 4 times full throttle then put it back on and kick it 2-3 more times full throttle and will start.I have to clear it out since its full of gas but after all that i dont have any problems starting it.What could be wrong-I have changed new plugs but no answer.

First, clean your air filter. Be sure not to over oil the filter. You might be getting too little air at start. You are going to have to be more descriptive of what you've troubleshot to get to this point. For example, have you looked at the plug? What's the condition of your plug? Too many varaibles to consider. Make another post and detail everything you know about your bike and what steps you've taken to get to this point.

Probably alot of things could help. Get a new spark plug, clean the carbs and make sure you have a good filter. Also, when you are done riding you should cut the fuel and let the motor run until it runs the fuel out of the lines. This is a big plus for 2 strokes. Helps keep it from gumming up on you.

Well it does have a brand new plug and changed it twice an brand new uni filter. The reeds have never been changed and the float is not properly set.I have cleaned the carb twice.I went to TX city today and wouldnt start so i adjusted the timing and fired almost right up but doesnt have to good of a top end but fires up in 2-3 kicks with no throttle. That is when engine is warm but will try tomorrow with cold engine and post my results. Thanks for response(plug is a little wet but not dark or burned)
