made it 75000 miles with us so oh well. I flushed the trans at work and put a new filter in it filled it with mobil 1 synthetic mercon but alas...........

just ordered transmission and the transmission jack is waiting in my dads garage...........will be a fun weekend let me tell ya. might put a new exhaust on it too since the exhaust has to be removed.

My girlfriend bought an '02 Honda Civic last year about this time. The thing had 37K on it when she bought. Around 47K she was driving up to Dallas when the thing just stopped moving.....every gear. Spent my weekend driving up there...towing the thing back to Houston...blah, blah, blah. Come to find out there was an internal filter that was clogged. Had to drop the tranny and it cost her around 1500 to have the thing replaced....they did rebuild it (since it was already out) and she purchased the 50K warranty on it. I was dissappointed in the engineering....especially from Honda.

well on new cars the engine light will come on when there is a transmission code. if there is a real problem, it will flash then stay on. my suggestion is to take it to a Ford place or tranny place and make sure you didnt pull up some codes that can be cleared with a simple trans flush.
