I hate to see this. I worked with Wes in Angola until last year, real shame, we'll miss him.

many thanks

I am here to say how grateful I am to have found this forum. I am his cousin and I am SO full of grief. I really wanted to know details of what happened and after googling his name I came across this wonderful community. I am unclear of why I needed details but I did.

Thank you so very much to the guys that were with Wes and put all efforts forth to attempt to comfort and keep him.

Wes was a golden boy, always kind, always gentle, always decent. He will live on and on in my fond memories.

You can never be replaced Wes.

I met Wes four years ago while working in Africa, a pretty impressive individual who genuinely cared for people. I keep going back to conversations over beer and the ride I meant to take with him but never did.

There is another guest book where people can post condolences for the family

Thanks for posting the great pictures of Wes. The one with the Rambling Wreck is great..Wes told me about driving that Model A. Never saw a picture before..I will be thinking of Wes as I drive my own model A this summer. Car design went downhill after the model A...

I went looking for this thread almost a week ago, can't believe I didn't find it. Guess I was looking in the wrong section.

I'm still at a loss as to what to say. I do offer the utmost respect and support for all of us involved.

To the family, friends, co-workers, acquiantances, loved ones &tc of Wesley: know that you have the deepest sympathy from the full community of fellow riders. There may not be words for this devastating tradgedy. We all are affected by this too in our own way, and can only imagine how hard this must be for you.

To the lady & passenger in the SUV: Please know that there is absolutely no blame to you. In any "incident" it's easy for people to point fingers and lay blame. In the roughly 3 hours we spent at the scene, it was universally agreed that you didn't do anything wrong. We are all concerned for your well being. You have nothing to feel guilty about. We hope that you heal well, and return to a peaceful life as soon as you can.

To the rest of us in that group: I speak only on behalf of myself since we're all different. I hope that y'all find ways to cope. I thank all of you for respecting this situation and not "sensationalizing" the event. I know it's hard to admit "I was there". Myself, I can't put on an act and try to post a response while pretending to be an outsider. I know that nobody wants to publicy admit to wanting counseling, but on your own time it will probably be easier and more beneficial than you'd expect. You're more than welcome to send me a PM for any reason.

To the Law Enforcement: - and all other responders to the scene: thank you. Your staying calm and professional has been noted and appreciated.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

My personal method of coping involves some memory loss, so please no offense but I may actually not recognize everyone I saw that day, much less remember names.

Beyond that, I'm in a state of "what now?". I'll be careful of what rides I choose to go on. Hittin' twisties just doesn't sound fun anymore. I'll reach out and keep the sense of riders' community going. I'll reach out to the newer riders. Trading the life of a human being isn't worth the price of any lessons taught; all I know to do is anything I can to help prevent another incident like this from happening.

- peace
