The truth...I am getting better as the day goes by. The more I talk about what happened the better I am doing. PM me or call me or email me if you just want to vent.

Trooper, thank you for the welcome.

Rex, that is a great idea. And I agree, the amount of compassion, as his son would say, is amazing.

I took a few pictures yesterday morning, preride, but I don't think Wesley had arrived at the time I took them.

To the family members I offend my condolences and wish you strength in these tough times.

many thanks from the combs family

Thank you to those riders that helped my brother Wes on Sunday. We know that he died doing something he loved. If you didn't know Wes well- he was a truly awesome person and a great father. We will miss him so much. I am comforted to know that he was with caring people that enjoyed life as much as he did. Thank you also to those of you that visited Yolande Sunday night to give her the details. His funeral will be on Thursday at 2:30 on Fripp Island, SC.

RIP Wes.

Its very sad to hear this, I think everyday of how lucky I am to still be here after I ran off the road that day. I cut across the lane and had there been a car there, Im sure a thread like this would exist for me. Im very sorry for the familys loss. I will be praying for everyone involved.

RIP to the Rider and condolences to the family and friends. Having ridden with some of you before I know the compassion you have for a rider going down, when the get up and shake it off it one type, when this happens I can not even imagine how this hits those involved, but it must go to your core. I trust that if you need to reach out to talk to someone you have someone you can, if not I am here. Bless

I wouldn't pass anything along to them right now -- it's too hard for them -- but down the line it's the kind of thing that might mean a lot. If you're willing, please e-mail any stories about Wes or anything you think his kids might want to know to me at rhuppke@tribune.com. I'll collect them and get them into their mom's hands to share when she sees fit.

I'm impressed with the compassion you all are showing here, and my sincere thoughts go out to those of you who were on the scene. Thanks for considering this.

All best,
