zzr 600?

I am looking at the zzr 600 for my wifes next bike to upgrade from the 250. I can't seem to find any horsepower ratings on the net. Anyone have info on this?

I just sold 04 zzr600 for $3200 fast bike. Went up to 150mph and it could still go faster.

Its funny how they put in the decimal points in the speed ratings. I have seen my speedo read 160 and I felt like it had some throttle left, but I think the top speed of the gsxr is less than 160mph, like 158.8mph. I know they are inaccurate at high speeds but it sure makes you feel like you are going fast. I only did that once because I think pressing your luck at that speed will end up badly.

Seems like alot of power still for a step up from the 250. The 2 options now are the duc 620 and the sv 650. Reasonable hp for a next bike.

Might consider the Suzuki GS500 or Katana600, not as razor edge as the new 600's are..

The SV is good and can be lowered somewhat if necessary.

The 620 is good but maintenance intensive, plus there have been some ECU / Immobiliser problems with some of the later models. i can be lowered.

The Kawi 650 is good but cannot really be lowered in the rear.

The 599 and FZ6 are in the same range power wise as the ZZR but are heavier as well. And more expensive too boot.

My 2 cents.

She is 5'4". seat height is an issue. Resale is as well, we don't want a bike that we can't get rid of. The sv is a strong contenter because of its versatility.

If you're looking at the second generation SV's, rule out the '03, as the subframe is different, making the seat height 40 mm taller.
