I'm riding tonight with or with you homosexuals. Was going to go check out that Euro bike meet at Shepard Park at 8. Check out a few vintage bikes, have a pint, and go for a ride at 9.

How's the tard running? Hopefully it won't be too much longer before I can pick up a tard.

The more the merrier. We can meet at the Shepard Park place and then go around for a bit. I'll probably only ride for a couple hours after that but that is a tank of fuel and chafed on the Husky.

I sold the kx250 and have a ton of bites on the yz125 just nothing solid yet. I've also got a ton of bites on the zb50 but nothing yet.

If i can at least sell the 125, I should be able to have enough set aside for a bike to do the conversion. Problem is I really want a 450x and there really aren't a ton of good deals in or around Houston right now. Few and far in between. I've also looked into the 250x and if i could find a good deal on one, i'd probably jump on it.

A 450R model is also one i'm considering but for riding street, the 450x model is the way to go. Different cam, larger radiators so less practically never overheat if your stuck in traffic and of course the electric start.

I'm going to try hard to keep a budget of $3,500... ish..

This looks interesting. Cost a load of money to repair if it breaks though. http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/mcy/3134737620.html

I bet this guy might take $4k for it. Anybody that is really familiar with the brand knows that you can get new 2010s for $6k. He probably knows this too.

I was going to go buy this but the WR450 popped up and it was too nice to pass up. I talked to the guy a few times, he will come down to $3500. He says it has the original tires on it and it looks that way in the pics. It couldn't have much time on it. Looks to be in real good shape and he has a title if you want to convert to street legal. It's right in your budget.

Yeah that's not a bad deal at all. The main factor i'm taking into consideration with which bike i buy is maintenance intervals. Mainly engine maintenance. I'd constantly worry about that bike.

That's tempting. I wonder how the maintenance is on that bike?

See something like that is ideal. Only thing is i'm going to have to drop at least another grand on conversion parts. But that's exactly what i would want.

I've been looking around for WR450's as well. How do you like yours? How is the performance?

I have 330 hours on mine and the engine has never been touched. Have to change the oil every 500 miles and check the valves every 1,000. Valves take 20 minutes and is twice as easy as my crf. Only problems I ever had occurred in the last two months. Broken shifter return spring which was replaced by only taking off the transmission cover. Easy. And I think my fuel pump is acting up now but that is only a $100 part. May be something else though. Not sure yet. Cost to replace the con rod and piston which is recommended every 6,200 miles is about $1,200 if someone else does the work. $500 if you do it.

I haven't had time to really ride it yet. I was doing the "free" mods on it last night and I ordered a few things to do a few more. I'm going to take it out Saturday. The headlight is already wired for hi low beam and the tail light is a 3 wire deal also. They make it real easy to convert. Bare bones conversion (without sumo wheels of course) is around $100.
