IMS does make an oversized tank for your bike, but there are also a couple of stock ones on ebay.

I'm assuming the warping is a result of the ethanol content in our fuel. There was the ducati plastic gas tank lawsuit a while back. People with plastic tanks were finding that the mounting holes were no longer lining up. Tanks were getting warped from fuels containing ethanol. I've never heard of or had any problems with the tank on the bmw, but I worry about the one on the ktm.

I has no carb. IMS makes one but it looks like a wart.

I had a momentary brain fart, I said carb, and then started searching for tanks for FI bikes. Derrp

and that IMS tank can't possibly look any worse than the one on the kx.

I took the WR out for a spin today. I ended up at the retention pond at 610 and Braeswood. Life was good until I went over the bars going from the grass to the concrete section. I guess the ground shrunk and created a nice lip at the transition point. Mfer that hurts! Both arms, back, knee, and lip are all rashed. Ruined my jeans and gloves. I just made some new frame sliders out of some cool Perralta skateboard wheels. They worked great. Only damaged part of bike was the plastic piece on the hand guards. I just installed a full Yoshimura system and it came out unscathed. I was going to return it because I didn't like the way it fit so I got really lucky. I'm not a religious person, but thank you Jesus.

My bike is still down. Hope to have it done by next week. Let's cross our fingers. I don't want to miss out on the Austin ride. If can't fix it by then I'll probably just ride my old man's Triumph cruiser to Austin and bounce around there for the weekend.

It almost started after I drank to much scotch and started arguing with it last week.

The filter was bad. Put a fancy Ducati one on there and it fired right up.

YAY. I fixed the overheating with the KTM. Apparently when Bryan ruined it () the power wire to the fan broke. Got it taken care of. Ride tomorrow?

Can't tomorrow down for this week though. Hopefully the fuel filter solved the rest of the problems. Haven't test ridden yet because the forks aren't on the bike right. Will check it in the morning. This thing has been about 30% down on power for months. Hopefully it is fixed and it will be like a different bike. Is that the only thing you have left to fix on the KTM?

fingers crossed for ya.

I still need to get in the carb and clean it up, but it's getting there. Gotta change the oil too, oil and filter showed up yesterday. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

I test drove a 2001 xr650r yesterday. It is the one on Craigslist in Missouri City. It looked brand new and was street legal. The guy wouldn't budge on the price so I walked. I didn't want to pay $3950.00 for a 12 year old dirt bike. It was completely stock and I would have had to spend a bit more to get it the way I wanted it. It was a smooth ride, maybe I should have bought it.
