It's unfortunate when anyone gets hurt regardless of what they ride. True, lots of sportbike riders are dumb by not gearing up but IMHO, more cruiser style riders don't wear gear or wear non protective gear. Not really sure what those leather vests are going to do (other than fly off) since they don't even close in the front. When I've asked a few of them why they don't wear helmets, their response is "I'm on a cruiser, not a race bike so I don't haul ". They just get mad when I try to explain that only water get softer the slower you go, asphalt/concrete retains the same hardness regardless of speed. JMO.

Regardless of what he rides, it is a fellow bike rider who is down.

Riding with no helmet was his choice. I do believe at least one of you has admitted to not wearing gear when they first started riding. Can anyone name who that is?

He's learned his lesson (hopefully). If not, well RIP then.

Speedy recovery to the rider.

It's kind of a dumb analogy. LOL. As far as there being more sportbike riders without gear, I have to disagree. Wearing a leather vest, chaps and sunglasses doesn't classify as proper gear. The cruiser market (not just Harleys) way outnumber sportsbike market and lots of those guys don't wear proper gear. Just my $.02

It's not funny...no matter what sort of bike you ride. It doesn't even matter it was a VRod...which is actually a typically hated HD "sport bike" among true HD enthusiasts. None of it matters. It's just not funny.
No gear = bad idea. We all know that. Rider down (and likely dead) = not funny...we should all know that TOO.

Classy guys - real classy...
Hey, no sympathy from me for ANYONE that gets avoidable injuries from doing something retarded like not wearing a helmet.

Speaking the truth isn't talking .

If ya don't like people responding to things you post, then don't post simple as that.

And if you really want my answer, pm me. That way no one gets embarassed.
