Had mine done at the Berkeley(sp)) eye center a little over two years ago. I could see 20/15 the next day, and it hasn't changed yet. Best money ever spent.

I'm looking to get mine done too. After that last mishap at motorsports ranch houston i need to get rid of these contacts.

i have a question though I wasn't born with bad vision. i had spinal meningitis when i was younger and they cured it not too far before i went totally blind. so since it's more diesease damage wonder what they can do.

Yeah, that's the place. I don't know how old you are, but I got mine done right at my 21st birthday. It's soooo much better waking up and being able to see everything without having to mess with contacts or anything.

texlurch, when I had mine done, it was only the best of everything, and we spent just a hair under $4300 for everything. It's more expensive than a lot of places, but everything is cutting edge, they're friendly, and probably the most experienced you can find. This is something you do not want to cheap out on. If my results stay like it is with just minimal loss from naturally getting older, the cost would be worth it even if multiplied.

Talk to them about it, they'll be honest with you and tell you straight up if they can help or not, and exactly what results to expect.

I was unfortunate enough to watch the procedure being performed on the monitors in the waiting room. Freaked me the out! :laughing6

Yields good results though.

My vision was 20/400 before I had LASIK done (-5.25 if you know what your contact lens prescription is). 20/400 is where the eye chart looks like a big white circle - you can't even see the big 'E'.

Anyway, I had mine done by Dr Mann from the Mann Eye Institute about 3 years ago. I would suggest blade free lasik. They use a laser to cut your cornea instead of a blade. Immediately after the procedure I could see 20/15. Its now stablized at 20/30 or so. One side effect for me was starbursts. I had them pretty bad at night for about a year. They've since disappeared. Dr Mann guarantees 20/40 vision for 2 years or they'll do the procedure again for free.

I think the cost was around $1600 per eye.
