Spring TX Area

After registering, the system suggested doing an introductory post. So, here it is!!

I have never been on a bike before, but now that I'm 35, I got an itch for riding one. Go figure.

Don't even know where to start. I would at least like to get on one before signing up for the class, so that I don't embarrass myself.

Anyway, still doing research on starter bikes, etc.

Do the class first. Remember everyone in the class is in the same situation as you. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Besides, we have seen to many folks wrecking their brand new bikes in their neighborhoods while practicing lately.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome from another newbie, took my class at Awesome Cycles back in March, those classes are geared to be accessible for people who have never rode a bike. Much better to make those mistakes under guided instruction where they can help you to know what you did wrong than paying for not knowing out on your bike on the road.

Just listen to what they tell you, remember to have fun, and you'll be fine...

(PS - Close to me, 32 and this is the first time I got on one too! )

welcome, I re-started at 32...take the MSF first, you get a bike and based on some morons in my class; anybody can pass...

Once you take the class you will get a better idea of what kind of bike/riding you want to do.

Oh yeah, make sure you have $$ left for gear after you buy your bike.

Wow!! ....thanks for the advice guys. I'll sign up for the class first then.
My wife wants to take the class as well. All this time, she has been saying "we can go riding together", but I always assumed she would be a passenger. Come to find out, she wants her own bike too!
