Help w Northside "RIDE"

Ok guys... Wednesday nights I do the katy/cypress meets because newrider usually puts together a pretty good ride after his meet... usually though it migrates to pp1 to start out and goes around southside... i know a lot of the northsiders complain that its too far... so here we go...

What day will work best for everyone... MON? TUE? WED?
Who knows some good routes on northside that we can do? Fredo.. i know you were talking about a few...

Im just tired of all the northside meets just meeting. We can meet somewhere and eat if desired but i would like to start a weekly ride up north (that at least starts up north) and actually ride...

id rather not post the routes here just to worry less about LEO's
if you know some routes... say so and meet us wherever we decide to meet

I would be game for forest rides, but only if we left a bit earlier so we could have some sunlight. I would be in for a Wednesday or Thursday.

But no matter what, we would need to establish clear rules with an experienced sweeper and a noob friendly / medium pace so no one rides beyond their skills and gets hurt/killed.

I would like to get more experience in group rides since I am used to being all by myself.

ok so maybe meet to ride first then go eat?...
that way we have more light to ride the forest...
Wednesdays always seem to have a good turnout... im thinking we will probably stick with that unless tons of people request another day...

If you are going to ride the forest it would probably be best to put it to the weekends and early then go eat lunch. Less traffic and the sort, and generally allow for a bigger turnout as people aren't getting off work/school and have more time to allow proper planning for said 'meet/ride'.
Just my 2 cents, though you could take it as a grain of salt.

Agreed.

Also 8pm allows for ppl get off work & make their way to the location + traffic dies down.
I'd sugg a place to eat quick 1st (allows the stragglers time to get there) then ride 2-3 hours after.

I would enjoy to have a northside RIDE. i enjoy meeting up and having food. But i dont want to meet to have food for 2.5 hours then go for a ride. I wake up real early in the morning. So starting a ride out at 1030 at night when you met at 8 is kind of long. If we met up and spent an hour meeting and eating then rode i think that would be prime.

Yea I could've passed on last nites 2.5 hour clusterfck lol. 1-1.5 hour seems reasonable then ride for 2-3 hours.

Just an idea but Thur is a popular go out nite if Wedn conflicts w/Katy/Cypress meet.

There's some decent roads out by my house... Hockley/Magnolia/Waller area....

Maybe make it not a Wednesday so some of the Cypress/Katy people can come and not have to choose between the 2 meets.

Central locale is 45N... idk of anything bar/grill on 45... Tailgaters?
Stats is probably going to get started up again soon, I kinda always wanted to do a ride afterwards, but I was unsure of how far was "too far"

Everytime I think of the north side, I always think of backroads and forest. Not really good for riding at night.

While the central meets have Westheimer, Richmond, Allen Pkwy, 610 and ALL the freeways that criss-cross at it's central location. Easy to ride at night because of less traffic.

What kind of rides did you guys normally do at night?

i liked the stats meets too, we should use that as the meet spot and if anyones knows a good route to take we should do it, i prefer to do it in sunlight ive done a night forest run and its not fun, its prone for more leos to hide on a corner and somebody gets caught and you cant see animals, and we can can loose ppl in the darkness.
