Cliff, I'm so glad you weren't hurt any worse. I was thinking inside to myself as you squared up on the face of that jump, "Don't do it Cliff!" I seriously thought there was gonna be at least one broken bone, but was glad to see it was just bumps and bruises.

See ya next Thursday! lol

The trails on the south side of Rio reach all the way to Tidwell! I think Danny (owner) said it's about 1,800 acres he is pushing for OHV use.

The sand pit we found:

When is the next meet?

A buddy and I had planned to hit SHNF yesterday but he didn't have an OHV sticker and there was some type of race up there so we went to Rio Bravo yesterday.

Not a bad day, his rear suspension is so he couldn't do any tracks (changing out the shock tomorrow) so we spent most of the day running loops on the trails and some on the GP track. I finally found the way to the unmarked trails noted 2 posts up but we didn't cross. Someone had put tape up across the access point to get off the GP track to go to the spillway so we didn't know if we could cross and ride over there or not.

Are their marked trails back there? Are we allowed to ride back there (Danny know?)

I don't think they are marked and it's ride at your own risk I assume. I didn't trek back there last week or whenever we went.

I've talked to Danny (the owner) and he said that he is working to get access to the property behind Rio. There's something like 1500 acres back there.

Danny (the owner, not me) said he is in the process and working with TX Parks and Wildlife to get the additional acreage added to Rio Bravo and to be an OHV park. I believe this is a video Danny helped produce for the Tx Parks & Wildlife OHV program.

So who technically owns the land? I've been scouting it out on Google Earth... and north across the road there is another chunk of land that looks like it has some trails on it. I think I might take the GPS and to trace out the trails for something to do (more of a why not ya know) but what happens if you get caught riding back there? (I assume it is private land), Danny care if riders go back there (or is it a don't ask don't tell thing)?

I don't know where the trails actually are, but here is some property information of Rio and the surrounding.

i've been scouring HCAD and most a lot of the trails outside of Rio fall in Harris County Flood Control District...is this public easement for the bayou? does that mean it is legal or illegal to ride?

will do! bike should be mostly done tonight. It sounds like CDN_bacon might be joining us. He is set on mapping out the trails there. Irak? Carbon seemed to bail for Edwards' Never Never Land.

Also caught word from a buddy that rides it:

From him:
We park off of ***** and ****. It's safe we park on an easement by the bayou where they have a flow control. I will send you a link for directions.

***** for the protection of anything that might need to be protected. I am still waiting for that link.
