Who knows what all the details are but, it is definitely strange and tragic.

This has got to be the dumbest person on Earth.

He was already handcuffed and 'locked' in the back seat. What is shooting a cop gonna do for you?????

"Officials said that Quintero had a 9 mm gun hidden in his waistband and shot Johnson in the head four times."

from the news article. so sad.

also, i didnt see it mentioned in that article, officer johnson was credited for saving multiple people in a residential fire several yrs ago.

depends on the situation, alot of officers will place someone in the car during a traffic "investigation" for " their safety " perfectly legal since no one is under arrest at that time.

of course we have no idea how this went down, and unfortunately no one will know the truth

he probably just put him in there for a precautionary measure kind of a prearrest thing. just a stupid thing to shoot someone. ah well he's in it now. No matter what they say on the news he got hulled the **** out when he got to the jail downtown. probably hasn't ate or slept a wink yet.

and also, you say this what excuses cops to "the way they do" which i can only take to be irrational and hot-tempered, since that's what i see needs most excusing(not all cops). how many cops die in america a year? no more than 200. i can think of a lot of not so noble professions where people don't have the pleasure of riding around in their a/c cars with their free cell phones, harassing/helping people and getting paid for it. i'm sure cops jobs have their stressful moments but i've seen enough episodes of Cops to know that most of them Love their jobs and seem to love it most when someone tries to run or whatever, it's an adrenaline addiction maybe...understandable. all i'm trying to say is it's no excuse. construction workers don't get to beat the out of people if one of them them off or something.

well all you gotta know is that he didn't find a 9mm in the guys waistband so you know he must have either not done a search or did a half one, and now he's dead for it.

+1 for the crook being the stupidest murderer of the year...no way to get rid of the murder weapon no way to hide the bullet holes between in the wall between you and the victim no way to escape the crime scene
dumbass.

I am surprised they didn't just shoot him though if I was a cop arriving on the scene and I saw a fellow officer shot dead and a suspect with a 9 I'd be ducking down and emptying my gun.
