Spining the bike on the kickstand....

Any chance this could break the kickstand mount on the frame?

i've done it with rc51, 675 and a few time with the busa. busa made me nervous though, I didn't want to do it too many times for this worry.

It depends on the kickstand. I wouldn't do it on a cruiser with those funky long stands that make a lot of contact with the ground but most sportbikes are no trouble.

Is it possible? Yes. I've seen it happen. Probable? No. I've done/do it. The other thong to watch for is the pavement crumbling out from under the stand when spinning.

I do it every time I take my bike out, no problems. But then again, my bike is pretty light and nothing is loose

Ive done it to every bike Ive ridden except my Duc without problems. The ducati kickstands are cast aluminum and awkward to spin on.

Some kickstands are aluminum and you could probably eventually wear the foot off.

I depend on my kickstand too much to risk it up. I just park in a way that i won't need to spin it

not to mention, I'm a little clumsy

all the more reason to perfect it.

if you do this technique though i would recomend checking the bolt for tightness now and then. i HAVE seen them get a little loose on bikes.

Only problem you might run into is messing up the kickstand switch! I turn my r1 around all the time on the kickstand and Ive noticed that over time the kickstand switch stop will get stuck open and the bike will think the kickstand is down when its really not! (trobuleshooting that problem on the side of the road is stressful!)
