Having someone that knew that stuff would make me feel a lot better on a group ride. I had a buddy that was a paramedic that rode but quit after he had a kid and dealt with a lot of bike wrecks.

Just spoke to Mem. Hermann, they have a mc wreck matching the description but without a last name cannot confirm it's our guy. The rider they have is stable and about to enter surgery.

Looks like he was new to the bike, not to riding. 2 weeks on the R6.

Hope he heals quickly.

Well fck, he is one of our clients. Had his bmw insured for about two years and remember when he switched out to the r6 couple weeks ago. He is stable and talking but cannot have visitors yet. They said two guys are there to see him but they are running tests right now. He'll be in surgery at some point today.

That sucks. I try not to ride in groups because of this. I see too many group rides that have a rider down. Thats not a good day of riding. I will stick to my small group of close friends.

This was a small group, maybe 10 and we had just started riding. I'm thinking that was either the first or second turn we took.

It was a blessing that he was in a goup cuz he'd have been laying there for quite a while.

Did you guys at least finish the ride or did everyone just go home? I ask because I'm curious what the general etiquette rules call for once the fallen rider is in professional medical hands...

Some people in the group usually stay, others finish the ride.

At least that was my experience with 2 of the rides when someone went down.

Hope surgery goes well. Prayers sent.

So I read that he has no immediate family in the area?
Maybe a group of us should go up there and check on him..maybe give him some support?
