That's what I have been doing lately. I leave my helmet at the bike though. I walked behind some older lady a few months ago, I really scared her that day. Later on, I realized that she must have heard my boots clacking. I unintentionally drag my feet when walking around. The noise doesn't bother me but it bothers other people. When she turned around and saw me in armor... she just about nearly fainted...

I really try to be courteous hence why I'm asking you guys what y'all do.

i would not leave your helmet behind. too many asshats like to steal them or put in them to suck with you.

on a side note.... of course the noise your boots make doesn't bother you.....lol. isn't that a given?

I actually want someone to take my helmet. It's old! I want a new one but the wife won't go for it. No... I have a helmet lock on there. I have had a couple of them stolen but this whole business of putting in there is a new one. That's never happened to me. Never thought of that though. That would definitely suck.

The point is that I am aware that it makes noise but I forget and I get a lot of dirty looks as a result. I'm a perfectly confident fella. It's not about that... Looks like there's not much I can do as I expected. Basket and that's that.

I just leave the jacket on and carry the lid. I hate the store.

Plus the jacket makes you look swol.

Carry the helmet, keep the rest on ( or put the jacket in the cart ) I like the looks you get from kids. They always seem amazed, I just smile and wave. They get a kick out of it.

here ya go this thread is real

http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=180293

was it the gear that helped him....while he was trying to follow
the "route" with the "pack",

that training (routing) certainly seems prevalent.
I see the evidence weekly, so yes! by all means GEAR UP! and go meet/ride the routes.......
