Well to be honest I didnt go simply because I felt fine. IT was an hour later when I walked in the apartment I was staying that I realized I was hurt. At this point I had already called Statefarm and checked on my insurance. In all my brilliance I waived the pip to save like $9.00 a f/n month since my last job had me covered ... note Last <--------------
So i popped some over the counter meds and tried to go to sleep but none of my friends would let me lol.

You're most likely to be killed in a traffic accident near your home simply because that's where most of you driving is done.

The fact that you're far less likely to die in an accident hundreds of miles away (in the hill country for instance) is because statistically you only drive there for a very small fraction of your total drive-time.

Hill country riding would tend to be far more dangerous. If two groups of people rode equal amounts of time on 337 and within five miles of their homes the riding on 337 would doubtless claim more accident victims.

Riding 10,000 miles a year in your neighborhood vs. riding 100 miles a year in the country makes it far more likely that you'll crash in your neighborhood.
While you are correct my point still holds true. I am not saying that you should not gear up for the hill country. I am saying it is silly to not gear up for those short rides you take most often.

can we all just get along.
we all ride for the pleasure. When I get on my bike, I don't think, "Oh let me look cool today."
Let those who like to ride without gears ride with out gear. No need to bash on anyone.
Those with gears, continue to ride with gears. This topic/debate will come up every other month. It's getting boring.
I ride with full gears some time and sometime I just have a helmet and jean. In the end, it's all my decision. When I see another ride with or without gear, I just wave and say ride safely and move along.

The term "squid" doesn't just mean you're not wearing gear. It also mean riding like an idiot regardless if you have gear or not.
The funniest "squids" I have seen was last week at PP1 when I was there getting coffee and catching up with a few friends. I saw two guys getting out of a car holding their helmets and wearing a jackets. Sat down for a few hours posing, then got back to their car and drive off.

Changing the subject somewhat... I'm curious how you guys handle your gear while running errands. I always feel a little embarrassed walking into HEB or Central Market wearing full gear. I always feel like I come across as a little 'imposing' walking around. I'm certainly not going to leave my $300 jacket on my bike. How do you guys handle that? Any suggestions or tips?

hmmmm disagree... i know at least 3 or 4 EMT's that have personally told me
"with the we've seen you might as well not wear the freaking gear"

i disagreed with them. just saying...

also, lets discuss why people ride "gixxers" when the other brands cost the same, are so much better and you wont be called a TOOL...

ooooorrrr, HD's suck becauseee???

or another one another one, why riding street is and you should only ride track...
