Took on a porsche turboS

Awesome ride today to get frozen custard. Headed home and up behind me came a white turboS Porsche carrera. He reved at me and it was on!

I was already rolling at 88mph, so I knew he had to have something under the hood to test me at that speed.

We went side by side for a good 300 yds, then I figured it was time to downshift to 4th and as soon as I did, it looked like he pulled into a parking space.

I saw his face as I pulled away, I could swear he said "that's not a 600?"!!!!

then he didn't know how to drive the car. Anytime you want to do a little point to point run in your 600 and me in my GT3, I'd be happy to give you a proper demonstration. And that's with 120 less horsepower than the turbo. Point to point does not mean a quarter mile straight line bore me death drag race. We can run a route, perhaps. There are a few around that have done that with me. Great fun.

I have beat more super cars and 1300's n 1400's than i can count on a 600....
because the driver couldn't drive and the rider couldn't ride !

Point to point with a street rider on a liter bike, not a racer, no problem. There are a few people who've run me on liter bikes and have stories to tell. The gt3, btw, is a track car. I run sticky rubber, good brakes, and a couple of other things

Not to take anything away here.
Granted at 80 plus down to 4th is optimal for acceleration on a bike like yours,
I doubt he saw it coming and he was likly fumbling to down shift while you were pulling car lengths on him.

My question is how did you know it was a Turbo S
I am not that familuar with the car so maybe its easy, I know its written on the back but it sounds like you were never behind him.

They typically say Turbo S on the back.

Another possibility is that the Porsche decided further risk to his $120K automobile, or to the motoring public, was a stupid move.

I havent raced a porshe yet. I have beat the out of a few vets. I really have found its not the car that I beat its the driver. most are not skilled enough to truly push the cars to the limits, and to be honest with traffic ect its probably best that they do back off.
Not justifying me being an idiot racing them.

Send a message via AIM to Scorpio
The porsche would need to have around 1500HP to equal the power to weight ratio of your S1000rr.

Cool story though.

This thread reminded me of a great article where MotorTrend and SportRider they put the latest Ducati 1198 up against the latest Ferrari 458. Great discussion of the physics and matchups between superbikes and supercars:
