Test ride a BMW S1000rr

Hey guys,

I talked to my dealer and we are working on a S1000rr test ride. They want everyone to experience what I get to everyday.

Not to mention I'd like to do a MH meet&greet there with giveaways and food.

I'll keep you guys posted. I'd like to get a rough number of who would be interested in demo'ing an S1000rr just so I know interest.

Show of hands?

As long as it doesn't feel as bad as an R6, I'm down

(I went to a dealer to testride an R6 and didn't test ride it and left because it felt too awkward - bars were too narrow and bike was too high for my liking)

Well ultimately its to give you an idea if you want one or not. I know a lot of guys are looking to move into the 1000 range, this will tell you or not if the BMW is the way to go.

Not to be biased, but I know if you tried it, you'd love it and move that way when you're ready. Last night I went to a meet up north and there were 2 guys thinking about the S1000rr, but weren't sure. Hopefully this will give them an idea.

Oh yeah, did I mention food and drinks and some giveaways?

so... How is the test ride?? its not just going around the parking lot like they used to do at Eximpots? right?
Will they have an area to open the bike up for just a bit or what?

A Jim or a Tim (lipreading isn't an exact science) let me take it out on the open road unsupervised. I went to the one in Pasadena/South Houston. What turned me off from the bike was how the salesman kept repeating... this bike is all about going fast. Over and over.

Besides... the insurance...

We all know that this bike its "fast" BUT been on it and just give it a little bit of throttle should give you a taste of whats all about..

I know that they will not let you just take it out on the side road and have fun with it.. but I was just thinking a nice good looking parking lot should have some what enough room to test it, not like a go kart track..
