Raise your hand if you have been the victim of a hit and run.

I have seen this alarming trend occurring to people just in this forum alone.

I, myself, was the victim of a hit and run. I was not hurt nor my bike damaged but the car behind me was totaled. I chased the down, though.

So who has all been or know someone that has had this happen to them that is not a member here?

My car rear left side was scratched by a f@cking white Prius while in Austin for the weekend. Parked the car next to it the night before at the hotel. The morning after the white Prius is gone and the rear left side bumper is scratched with white paint transfer. White Prius driver I will get you one day @sshole...

Thankfully no hit (and run) involving my bike specially while riding though...

I was backed into at a light even with me giving him plenty of room. He saw an 18 wheeler turning and floored it in reverse. He tried to get away but I was able to stop him and pin his POS mini van in till HPD showed up to... well not really sure why they showed up? They didnt do ! NO ticket for driver. Even though he only had ONE good eye which was pretty jacked up as well. No ticket for not wearing glasses. me off so bad and I expressed how I feel about hpd. Almost took out two other drivers after getting on the freeway 5 minutes later

All three of my downs the offending party chose to vacate the scene posthaste. Only in one instance was there contact between my bike and their vehicle. I take pleasure in knowing I paid <$60 to get back going and a Lexus SUV rear quarter panel costs way more than that.

Good luck to us all.

she was driving a white surburban..on her cell phone....she darted across 3 lanes to take the exit i was taking and touched my left bar-end. I honked and then Kicked the side of the right passenger door. put a huge dent. She did not even slow down or look at me... just kept blabbering on her cell.

Wow. That poll is insane! I have not been a victim yet. I can't imagine someone wanting to run? I don't get it. How can somebody leave somebody laying there.

I have... Twice... One was an old white guy who when the cops got there turned the story and said I ran the light to hit him. No witnesses = both of us at fault

Hand raised.

It was 1990, I was 18. A Ninfas restaraunt van/bronco pulled out into my lane, and I T-boned it. Driver fled but some good samaritans got him pulled over a block away.

Come to find out, the company van, was not being driven by the allwoed operator, but his son, needing a vehicle to do errands.

My hand was crushed, and so were my radius, and ulna. Entire forearm had a nice "S" bend in it. Several months later the pins came out from all 3 sections.

Sadly, it wasn't the drivers fault! It was another vehicle, that did an immediate block to the driver. Had he not run, the trouble would have been much less severe

Watched Cali get his and run on his busa.. Cops were at the place, and coulda cared less. Chased the guy for prob 5-6miles. He wrecked his truck and jumped the curb a few times. So I stayed back. Got the plate number, and the house where he went. Was kinda nervous cause it was GHETTO there. He was gone when we came back with the cops. Nothing ever happened from it.
