Welcome. I'm still learning on my 250, and having plenty of fun doing it. 250s are cheap in all the right ways and still a motorcycle. No sense in overspending on performance you won't use or for mistakes you may make.

I know that my next bike won't replace my 250, it will share the garage with it.

go with the 250. when your able to start ripping foot pegs and such off in turns or blow a motor in the corners then hey by all means move up.... i mean.. not that i have done that *whistles*
