Just a heads up about the Forest.

There is one patch out there with gravel laid almost across the entire lane heading out from Montgomery, before you get to the first bar (Drifters, I think).

Not sure if it was put there on purpose, didn't really pay too close of attention while I was there.

So if you plan on riding it anytime soon, make a trial run first to survey the road.

That has to be the one that we were on last Saturday. There were 10 of us. We were talking about it when we stopped for a break. Luckily no one went down. I saw it and said crappola!!! Dark gravel blends in..

I've been on the forest ride a lot and never saw gravel like this.

Not saying don't ride, just be careful out there. The community doesn't need another rider going down.

Why don't you help some brothers out and sweep that up?

For him?

Well he gets mayo, 3 slices of thin cut ham & turkey, and one slice of cheese. With the crust torn off.

He's so spoiled!

For those of you that take "spirited" rides through the forest. . .don't you guys/gals take a "parade lap" to check out the road conditions before you increase your speed? When I lived in Montgomery I took a few passes down 149 a week and I NEVER rode hard the first time through.

Saw the gravel on Sunday. I had almost went down. A rider on a Triumph went down with a rider.

We turned around and broke off some branches with leaves from the trees and swept the road clean.

Becareful out there and check the roads. This was also my first time seeing gravel out on 149.
